Two-channel video with sound
4:56
Entangled Threads explores the social history of lace manufacturing in the artist’s hometown in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. Using dance and repetitive rhythm as forms of ignition and generation, the work gestures towards a reclamation of feminist resistance within the workforce, whilst investigating notions of collective identity, class and the female body’s historical and continuing relationship to machines.
